The Rock Lobster Restaurant was founded in 1987 in Nelson Bay and moved to D’albora Marina in 1997 just after the marina arm was built. It has remained one of the premier restaurants in Port Stephens.

My specialty is seafood and I have worked in the hospitality industry for over 30 years where I gained extensive experience in ala carte and fine dining, I have had a love of food and cooking from a very young age.

My passion for seafood is made easy with the quality of produce the local Port Stephens area have to offer with fresh Lobsters, Prawns, Oysters, Crabs and Local Fish.

With the assistance of a young, enthusiastic team, we take pride in creating beautiful tasty meals with the freshest of ingredients.

The Rock Lobster Restaurant not only has amazing views, incredible staff, and a great working environment, owners Megan and Graeme make it a pleasure to go to work.

Years ago, Megan and Graeme Ellis used to visit Port Stephens on holiday, went jet skiing in the beautiful bay and enjoyed the amazing food at the Rock Lobster Restaurant. After relocating permanently to Port Stephens, Megan and Graeme jumped at the opportunity to acquire the restaurant in 2015 as it held some delicious memories.

We moved to the Bay from Hamilton Island some 10 years ago and had the opportunity to purchase the restaurant in 2015. As we are avid seafood lovers, we are very pleased that we did. We love to sail and get on the water as often as time permits and we love to spend time with our family and friends.

The restaurant has had a complete makeover and is looking fantastic which we are very pleased about. Our head chef Joanne and our staff are all amazing and work very hard to ensure all our guests experience the best fresh local produce Port Stephens has to offer.

We have continued to push the restaurant forward by making our mark with the recent restaurant renovations but maintaining the excellent and delicious food that has sustained the restaurant over the last 30 years. We LOVE the fresh local lobster, as it’s our favorite food, and enjoy supporting the local fish markets here in Nelson Bay who provides us daily with local fresh produce.
